Acantha Lang @ Pizza Express Soho

New Orleans has always been a hot bed of musical talents. Originating the likes of Louis Amstrong, Fats Domino and Lil Wayne to name but a few. Its latest product is the delectable and awesomely talent Acantha Lang.

Initially raised in ‘The Big Easy, she moved to New York city where she honed her musical and vocal skills at venues like the iconic Cafr Wha?, Harlem Grill and many others.

She brings her trade mark mix of bluesy soul and thought provoking insightful songs for one night at the Pizza Express, Soho.

Expect to hear her massively popular hit ‘Know Your Name’ about a homeless man (check out the Youtube video above), as well as crowd favourites ‘Sugar Woman’ and ‘I Smell Trouble’.
She has been compared to the likes of Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner, with her soulful voice and incredible stage presence makes her one of London’s most sought-after talents. This is a gig you won’t want to miss.

Acantha is also a sought-after compere – being the first ever woman to take on the highly respected position of MC at the infamous variety show/nightclub The Box, both in NYC and London.
Luminaries such as Simon Cowell, Tom Cruise, Sting and Axl Rose are just a few of the A-listers that have expressed their admiration for her voice and presence.

Robert Randolph (and The Family Band) re-record one of Acantha’s original songs, ‘Gonna Be Alright’which went on to be nominated for Best Contemporary Blues Album at the 2018 Grammy Awards.

She is currently based in London where she is writing and recording her first solo release.
