Afrikans on Film Festival, (AOFF), London’s largest one day Black film festival is back for the 6th year, showing the best in African centred films from the African continent and her wider diaosprian family.
It is a unique opportunity to see films rarely seen on the big screen and is noted for shining a light on the multi-layered aspect of Afrikan filmmaking and filmmakers themselves.

Not to be missed films include the rarely seen award-winning documentary film Winnie, exploring the life and public trials of the woman once called the mother of the African revolution.
This ground-breaking documentary provides intimate conversations with Winnie Mandela as she describes the harsh treatment waged upon her and her people at the hands of the racist apartheid regime

The acclaimed director Remi-Vaugh Richards brings us her award winning documentary Faaji Agba, a beautifully constructed film that shines a much deserved light on the music of a group of ‘almost forgotten elders’ who created a style of music that has informed the world about Yoruba culture.

There is also an array of short films from Lesotho, Nigeria, Congo, US, France, USA and the UK.

This year’s talented array of films again proves that the multi-layered narrative of African centred film-making continues to rise, explore and inspire.

Apart from the films, visitors will find three floors packed with Afrikan craft stalls, an array of ethnic foods (vegan options available) with performance, spoken work poetry and vivid story-telling thrown i in for good measure.

Come early as limited chairs and time! No booking necessary. Disability access and a child friendly environment are provided.
