Chaka Khan is a ten-time GRAMMY® Award winner (with 22 GRAMMY® nominations) who has released 22 albums and racked up ten #1 singles. From the moment she burst onto the music scene in the 1970s as the 18-year-old lead singer of the band Rufus, her powerful voice and show-stopping stage presence set her apart from any other singer.

Stevie Wonder wrote her first smash hit “Tell Me Something Good” in 1974 when she was vocalist with Rufus. The band went onto have many more successful singles such as “Sweet Thing”, “Do You Love What You Feel?” and “Ain’t Nobody”. The first Chaka Khan solo single after leaving Rufus was 1978’s Ashford & Simpson penned “I’m Every Woman”.

The song that made Chaka Khan a superstar was 1984’s “I Feel For You” which was written and first performed by Prince. Grandmaster Melle Mel performed a memorable rap on arguable the first Soul / R&B song to feature a Rapper.

Chaka Khan has collaborated with a long list of diverse artists throughout her career such as Miles Davis, Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Dizzy Gillespie, Steve Winwood, Mary J. Blige & George Benson.
